Filmmaker/Actor Ed Harris, Editor Kathryn Himoff and Thomas Cobb discussed a simple title sequence with a quiet poetic tone. The plan was to shoot hats, pistols, shotguns, coffee cups –everyday objects from the period used by the characters. Working with props from the film’s art department, TC pieced together tableaux that evoke moments of time standing still, capturing a sense of gritty realism by shooting in early morning natural light.
