Jenji Kohan, who also created Weeds, wanted a title sequence that told the many stories of incarcerated women. TC filmed 52 female former inmates in Los Angeles through the gracious support of Homeboy Industries. TC directed each woman to visualize in their mind three emotive thoughts: Think of a peaceful place, think of a person who makes you laugh, and think of something that you want to forget.
